The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Chris Conner from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced by Executive Vice President and General Manager Ray Shero.
Conner, who signed with Pittsburgh this past offseason, is Wilkes-Barre/Scranton’s leading scorer with eight points (2G-6A) through seven games this season, and has taken a team-high 27 shots.
The speedy winger had an impressive showing in training camp and the preseason with Pittsburgh. In four preseason contests, the 5-foot-8, 180-pound forward posted three points (2G-1A) and 11 shots.
Conner spent the last four seasons in the Dallas Stars organization after signing with the club in 2006. The Westland, MI native has recorded 21 career points (7G-14A) in 71 NHL games – all with Dallas.
Conner played four seasons with Michigan Tech, posting 69 goals, 60 assists and 129 points in 151 games. He finished his collegiate career as the school’s all-time leader in shorthanded goals (15) and was named to the 2004 WCHA Second All-Star Team.
